” Quando sarò grande…Tutti noi avevamo sogni e idee sul nostro futuro. Nella maggior parte dei casi, le cose sono andate diversamente, eppure ancora portiamo alcuni di questi desideri dentro di noi. E adesso siamo cresciuti. “
La fotografa tedesca Donata Wenders nasce a Berlino nel 1965 dove studia alla scuola ”Rudolf Steiner”. Già adolescente inizia a studiare fotografia. Dopo gli studi universitari si specializza in fotografia per il cinema, e inizia a lavorare nella realizzazione di documentari. Dal 1993 è felicemente sposata con Wim Wenders. Oggi lavora come direttore della fotografia sia per il cinema che sui set di video musicali. L’ abbiamo conosciuta a Palermo, durante le riprese di Palermo Shooting. Figura discreta e attenta al lavoro sul set del marito. Colpisce per i suoi modi gentili e per l’ eleganza informale e colorata con cui si veste. E’ sempre possibile notare tra i suoi capelli raccolti dei fiori e delle perline. ( M. Di Trapani)

“As we go about our lives, at home, on the road ao at work, just when we are wondering what to wear or absentmindedly cleaning something or pensively gazing out the train window or humming in the shower there are moments when the world that we were just so occupied with, suddlendly fades. We enter a clearing whose boundaries we cannot see and where a different time prevails. Seconds become an eternity. Just as a scent can take us back to our childhood in a heartbeat, all of a sudden we sense again who we are, what the essence of our being is and what truly matters. At such moments, a long-lingering question many resurface, we are reminded of somebody we used to love very much and who we had long forgotten, a sudden worry flashes through our hearts, or we feel gently reminded to act finally upon something we intended to do for quiet a while. It might even dawn on us that we’re being seen and loved unconditionally , just as we are. Our talents and tasks alike are now clear before our eyes. And before we know it, a car honks, a phone rings, we cross a street – and lifes goes on…” Donata Wenders
